Aimless News PDF Print E-mail

It seems that the world's aim has been thrown off by a few miles.
Many issues that have been on the news recently are not really issues at all.
They are just plain dumb.
The one I want to address is the planned renovation and reconstruction of a building
near what is called "Ground Zero" in New York. There is absolutely no reason that it cannot be built. None. Now some of you may thing that I show no compassion and may call me unpatriotic, but here we go. Who has the right to say that they can't build there? Nobody. People complain when houses are town down in order for a shopping center, and imminent domain has run amok, with people saying that they have no right to commit those acts either, but they think they have the right to say what a person does with their property? Good old double standard! It's just a location, nothing more! Who cares if it's down the road from "Ground Zero"? We stampede upon the burial grounds of Native Americans, we drill oil from the lands of natives, citizens, and the wildlife, so what makes that any better that an Islamic Center being built? And people, the first amendment DOES protect this project. Nowhere in the Constitution of the United States of America does it say that it only applies to protecting people from the government. It applies to everyone being protected by everyone. Why should this project be halted because a few people of the Islamic faith blew up a couple planes and buildings, when those of the Christian, Catholic and similar faiths have massacred and exterminated entire civilizations and waged wars in the name of their faith? Does this mean I could complain when churches are built on the lands of Native Americans? Civil War battlefields? This double standard has got to go! I say build on!
Now, why am I annoyed with the coverage of this topic in the media? Because it's a useless debate and should be left out of the media! It serves no purpose to me, and will not better the nation. We waste our time on senseless news when we could be looking at real issues in the world. This really annoys me and I lose faith in the media and news providers, even CNN, BBC, and many others (FOX was already at the bottom of my list, but it looks like it can go even further). So let's check our sights and aim right at the bullseye from now on.
